Der junge Spanier Daniel hat eine Stelle als Koch in dem renommierten Zürcher Restaurant Wackerle angenommen, wo auch die Sommelière Hanna arbeitet. Obwohl die beiden in festen Beziehungen sind, funkt es zwischen ihnen. Bis auf einen spontanen Kuss bleibt alles platonisch. Das Blatt scheint sich zu wenden, als Hanna ihrem Geliebten den Laufpass gibt und Daniel mit seiner Freundin Schluss macht. Erst als sie ihre Beziehungstrennungstrauerarbeit abgeleistet haben, keimt Hoffnung auf ein Leben zu zweit auf.
